Featuring the famous Healing Springs, Local Greek Eats & Partnering with Dirty Girls to assist in the Syrian Refugee Crisis. Be A Part of History. Spread Light and Love in Lesvos On A New Hire’s Budget!

Please join us for a 3 night/ 4 day Volunteer Adventure!

Tara will meet you at our hotel in Lesvos on Day 1, where we will share some traditional Greek treats and get to know each other! Situated on the magical north-western coastline of the majestic Aegean island of Lesvos, Aphrodite Hotel, the #1 Hotel in Molyovs, is just .03 miles from its own private pebble beach, amidst splendid palm trees, olive groves and flower gardens. We will be 2.5 miles from Eftalou, an area famous for its beaches and hot springs. On Day 2 we will spend some time volunteering with Dirty Girls to aide in the Syrian Refugee Crisis (we will sort clothes at their warehouse) and then we’ll meet up for a local Beach BBQ in the evening! We will spend Day 3 exploring Petra’s beautiful Chateau and climbing 113 steps up to Panagia Glykofilousa, a church on a rock with incredible views of the town and coast. We will relax at the therapeutic Healing Springs of Lesvos, and then you will also have some independent time during the day to explore the island or lounge on the beach! We will enjoy a traditional Greek family style dinner at The Women’s Co-Operative, Petra’s #1 Restaurant! While this trip was designed for a new hire’s budget, we are happy to welcome seasoned crew, companions and crew family members! Come prepared to spread love, light and laughter through out Lesvos!

There are three direct flights to Athens from the US. From Athens you can take OLYMPIC air (AEGEAN) to MJT airport, which is a 30 minute flight . Or there is a more scenic route which takes most of the day but could be worth the breathtaking views! There is ferry service from Athens to Lesbos which takes approximately 10 hours.

3 Direct flights to Athens:
AA operates ONE flight out of PHL.

TWO are on DL out of JFK. Other connecting options are to get to European cities that have service to Athens (there are a bunch of them!)
Some options include service to Athens via:

  • Geneva on Swiss Air
  • Frankfort on Lufthansa
  • Rome on Italia
  • Zurich on Swiss
  • London’s Heathrow on British Airways

Hope this helps! Some may want to make a few days of it exploring on their own in the connecting cities which helps spread up the fight for seats, since we are all in this together! We ourselves plan to spend a few days in Athens before take the ferry over!

The X96 bus goes directly from Athens International Airport to Pireaus (Ferry Port). It takes 45 to 90 minutes depending on time of day and traffic. It costs €5. Buses run every 15 to 30 minutes, 24 hours per day. Walk out the doors on the Arrivals floor and turn right. Buy tickets from the kiosk beside the buses before getting on board.

For more detailed directions from ATH to the Pireaus (Ferry Port), we’ve found a great site! Check out: https://santorinidave.com/athens-transportation#airport-to-ferry

ATH-MJT (Mytilene International Airport) Interline Airfare: about $60 USD direct flight.
Ferry: $45 USD (duration: 10 hrs)

Taxi: About $80 USD/ 70E
*A group of 4 would mean $20 USD p/person.

Bus: 7.50E/ $8 USD p/person
The Schedule (link below) lists 2 departures every Friday from MJT/MYTELINE to PETRA (where our hotel is).

There is good public bus service in Lesvos. Buses are going almost every hour. The bus stops are signed ‘KTEL’ and there is no timetable listed on them.
